An index, not a sales floor
Independent research on restricted country-code domains and the trustee services used to hold them.
Some country-code domains will not sell to an outside company. A .no needs a Norwegian organisation number. A .ca needs a Canadian presence. A .de needs a German address for legal service. Trusteeindex is the record of which TLDs are restricted, what each registry requires, and how the trustee and local-presence services that hold these domains for foreign owners compare on price and on exit terms.
We have been operating since August 2024 and are based in Switzerland. Our research was first published under a different domain. In September 2026 we moved it to trusteeindex.com, together with new hosting, and carried the existing research across.
We are not a review blog and not a reseller. We take no paid placements and use no affiliate links. Nothing on the site can be bought. How we research the explainers is set out on the methodology page, and their limits on the disclaimer.
