A .de domain is one of the cheapest country domains to hold, and one of the most discounted in the first year. The prices worth comparing are the renewal and the restore fee, which is what you pay if a renewal slips.
For a single .de, netcup and ALL-INKL charge the same every year with no introductory offer, at €5.04 and €9.90 including VAT. Porkbun is cheaper again at $4.07 on renewal. Six of the ten sell the first year below the renewal price, in two cases for under a euro.

Monthly prices and contract terms
IONOS, Strato and netcup quote .de by the month: €1.30, €1.00 and €0.42. The yearly figures in the table are those multiplied by twelve. Strato and netcup still require a 12-month minimum. IONOS states its .de contract can be cancelled monthly.

Published restore fees in the table
A deleted .de enters a 30-day Redemption Grace Period, during which only the last holder, or someone they name, can get it back. Entering the period is free. Restoring from it is not: DENIC charges the registrar a fee it does not publish, and the registrar passes it on. united-domains charges €19 and OVHcloud €59.49. Most registrars do not publish the figure at all, so ask before you need it.
What DENIC charges
DENIC does not publish the fee its members pay per domain. It does sell .de directly through DENICdirect, at €79 a year including VAT for registration, transfer in and each renewal. That service mainly exists as a fallback, for example for a domain whose registrar stops managing it. As a retail choice it costs many times any registrar here.
Buying from outside Germany
Any registrant worldwide can hold a .de directly, so these prices apply to you wherever you are based. The one extra rule for a holder outside Germany is an authorised recipient in Germany, which DENIC asks for only in a dispute.
