.eu domain prices by registrar

Porkbun has the cheapest .eu renewal at about €5.28 a year, and the cheapest renewal from a registrar based in the EU is OVHcloud at €10.31 including 20% French VAT. Over five years, counting the first year and four renewals in euros including VAT, Porkbun is cheapest at €26.41, then GoDaddy at €43.97 and Namecheap at €45.72. OVHcloud is the cheapest EU-based registrar at €50.22. All figures are as the registrars published them in October 2026.

The five-year total is the first year plus four renewals in euros including VAT at the rate of the registrar's own country (France 20% for OVHcloud and Gandi, Germany 19% for INWX, the United Kingdom 20% for IONOS, the Netherlands 21% for TransIP, none for the US-based Porkbun, GoDaddy and Namecheap), with prices that already include VAT used as published and US dollars and pounds converted at the ECB reference rates of 1.1133 and 0.83785 to the euro in October 2026. The table is sorted by five-year total, cheapest first. TransIP does not show a separate renewal price; the figure is its stated normal price. Cloudflare Registrar does not offer .eu. The renewal markup

A .eu at Gandi costs €3.99 in the first year and €30 on renewal, more than seven times as much. GoDaddy's one-cent first year requires a three-year purchase, with the extra years at €10.99. Neither is unusual in the industry, but both mean the first-year price says little about what a .eu costs to hold. Budget on the renewal figure, and consider a registrar that lets you register for several years at once: EURid allows terms of one to ten years. INWX's €5.00 first year runs for payments made before January 2027.

Quarantine and restore

A .eu that is not renewed goes into a 40-day quarantine. Website and email stop working, and the name can be reactivated through the registrar at any point in the 40 days. EURid charges its registrars for each reactivation, and the registrar sets the retail price: €5.99 at OVHcloud, $20 at Namecheap, €19 at united-domains, €30 at INWX and Gandi, £90 at IONOS. A name revoked because the holder was not eligible can only be reactivated by EURid itself.

What EURid publishes

EURid does not publish the fee it charges registrars per domain. Its registrar agreement refers to fees on its website, but no public price list is available. It does publish the cost of becoming a registrar: a €2,500 advance payment and at least €500 of transactions a year.

The price assumes you are eligible

Every price here is for a holder who meets the .eu eligibility rules: an EU or EEA citizen, resident or established organisation. Not every registrar checks this at checkout, and a cheap registration by an ineligible holder can be revoked later.
