Norid charges every registrar the same NOK 65 a year. What you pay on top of that ranges from almost nothing to several times the wholesale fee, and the gap shows up at renewal, not in the first year.
Compare .no registrars on the renewal price. Four of the eight charge less than Norid's own fee in the first year, and three of those four renew at NOK 209 to NOK 240. Webhuset and Loopia have the lowest published Norwegian renewals, and Netim is the only one whose renewal matches its first-year price.

Norid charges registrars NOK 65 plus VAT for every subscription it assigns or extends, the same for a new registration and a renewal. The fee rose from NOK 60 in April 2023. Norid's FAQ still quotes NOK 75 including VAT, which is the old fee; the current figure with VAT is NOK 81.25. A subscription runs one year from registration and continues for as long as it is extended.
The renewal markup
Against a NOK 65 wholesale fee, a NOK 240 renewal excluding VAT is a markup of almost four times. That buys the registrar's support and control panel, not anything from the registry: the domain is the same record at Norid whichever registrar you use. Where transfer is free, moving to a cheaper renewal costs nothing.
Expiry, deletion and restore
Norid has no paid redemption stage. If a subscription is not extended by the expiry date, a 90-day deletion process starts. The domain is removed from DNS after 60 days and from the database after 90, and you can renew at any point until then. After deletion the name is blocked from new registration for at least 30 days. Restore fees in the table are what the registrar charges for renewing late, not a Norid charge.
Who these prices are for
These are prices for a holder who meets Norid's eligibility rules: a Norwegian organisation number or a Norwegian national identity number. If you do not have either, a registrar price is not the number that matters. You will pay a trustee's fee, which is compared on the .no trustees page, or the cost of a Norwegian entity, set out on the company route page.
