Its .de trustee service leaves you as the registrant and works by adding the trustee partner as a secondary contact, with a German postal address produced only if the domain is subject to a complaint. That mechanism keeps your holder position intact. On .eu it publishes the plainest statement any provider makes about what a trustee is: for a customer who is not an EU citizen, the third party provider is the actual owner of the domain name with all attached rights.
